We need your help!

Over a rich history of ninety years, the Cinema Industry Benevolent Fund has seen so much change: cinema goers, the cinemas themselves and the staff who work there, and of course the technology. We live and work with increasingly visual mediums of communication.

As a bastion of the industry, powered by volunteers, contacts and colleagues, the CIBF has been comfortable with a very traditional letterhead, instead of a logo; until now.

Is it time for us to say farewell to serifs? Perhaps.

Is it time to to part company with Courier? Maybe?

Is it time for you to set our style for the next decade? Definitely.

The CIBF wants a new logo, and we want it to be designed by one of it's members (remembering that everyone who works in the exhibition industry in Victoria, Tasmania and the Riverina area of New South Wales is a member by default, with no membership dues every payable).

The winning entry will receive a $300 gift card which can be spent with a myriad of vendors.

Entries must be submitted by 30th April 2026 to secretary@cibf.org.au. More than one entry may be submitted per person. Entrants must be a member of the fund (by way of working or having worked in the Cinema Industry).

Intended usage

The logo will be used in many ways and seen in many places: mobile devices, staff-room flyers and TVs, the website, email signatures, certificates. in-cinema presentations, and staff-meetings; to name just a few!  While nothing prohibits a complex design, the successful logo will be capable of reproduction in both full-colour and monochrome as appropriate, and it (or a variant) must be suitable for line-etching or a silhouette as might appear on a trophy.

Values

The CIBF is run by volunteers, to support those that do work (and have worked) in the Cinema Industry. We're a caring organisation that supports those on tough times, as well as supporting newer members of the exhibition family in their future journeys with support grants for students.  You may choose to try and convey any elements that you believe resonate thematically, or to move in your own direction: the choice is yours entirely!
